Solaris 10 x86 installation

Got around to burning the 5( 4 + 1 companion) CDs for Solaris 10 on x86. Just started installing it. Since I am installing on a machine which had Solaris 8 it has given the option to upgrade or do a clean install. I have decided to do an upgrade. What the heck ? I had already done a clean install of Solaris 10 on an Ultra-10 with much headache. Just wanted to see how an upgrade would turn out. Would it be much different ? The dashed installation seems to take ages. One hour is what I would expect to spend when I install an OS given a decently fast machine. Fedora Core Linux didn't take much time, atleast not that much time that I got bugged about it. Solaris 10 for SPARC on the other hand took couple of hours. Total rot if you ask me.
Hmm I am getting the console for the entire installation process. Doesn't look good. Usually the installation should go into X mode, unless I mistakenly selected console installation, or as happened last time, the first CD installation didn't go through properly, which means a total waste of time and effort installing the other CDs as it wont come up in X mode after installation is complete.
Installation, as predicted, is taking its own time. I dont have the time to hang around to see what is the end result. Maybe some other day.
